During 2001/02 she independently achieved her Masters degree (MSc) at the University of Essex. Clare’s first book The Truth About Feeding Your Horse was published in February 2007 by J A Allen which has been so popular it is currently sold out. Clare’s expertise

Clare specialises in feeding horses for performance and can also advise on rider nutrition. She believes in putting academic theory into practice and has completed the Great North Run half marathon and evented at BE80 level with her home-produced mare. Clare has an avid interest in health and fitness in both horse and rider and tries to practise what she preaches with running, pilates, swimming, Tai Chi and riding. Her enthusiasm for health and fitness has promoted an interest in feeding the horse more naturally, which results in less disease and disorders, and more optimal performance and longevity.

Clare’s scientific knowledge is backed up with years of practical experience feeding both her own and countless clients’ horses. Clare has owned and looked after horses all her life, and she currently owns two horses, Tapir a retired gypsy cob and Levanah, an American quarter horse mare.

"Good nutrition isn’t everything, but there’s nothing without it".

In addition to providing nutrition, health and fitness advice and educational products to horse owners and yard managers, and working with veterinarians on clinical cases, Clare offers consultancy to leading feed and supplement companies, and she maintains an awareness of the products available to horse owners. Clare also lectures in nutrition, health and exercise physiology and fitness, and is a freelance writer on the subjects. Clare is an experienced nutritionist who is fully insured, and offers you a professional service with complete confidentiality.

Clare's Philosophy

"I founded my company to help owners do the best for their horses with independent advice, rather than advice biased by product sales". Clare is a horse-feeding, nutrition and health expert with both scientific qualifications and years of practical experience. She also has expertise in fitness.

"We have a great choice of feed, supplement and healthcare products for horses in the UK, but this wide choice creates confusion and the very foundation of good nutrition and health can be overlooked."

Clare is passionate about correct nutrition as a foundation for good health, without which peak fitness is not possible. She states "Good nutrition isn’t everything, but there’s nothing without it".
